IMF advises against crypto as legal tender in its new action plan

The International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) executive board published a new nine-point action plan on how countries should approach digital assets. According to the plan, regulators should avoid banning crypto and stifling innovation but should not grant cryptocurrency legal tender status either. The IMF has also expressed concern about digital assets being used to evade capital controls imposed by governments.
